Board of Directors - Notification for JSNT Members:

During the recent Diwali Meeting on October 12, 2025, the JSNT members had an opportunity to hear about the excellent progress we have made in reaching the launching phase of the construction of the New Center. The members experienced first-hand the broad- based commitment of pledges from donors of all levels.

With the excellent progress related to the construction of the New Center and the associated momentum underway, our major donors have shared thoughtful feedback about ensuring continuity and stability as we approach the transition to the 2026–2027 board. They’re eager to see a smooth process that builds on the strong foundation established by the current leadership. In their opinion, in order to prevent delays caused by the learning process involving new board members about the New Center project, the current board should maintain the status-quo and continue for another 2-year term of 2026-27. In large part, they are very appreciative of the chemistry and rapport observed between the current JSNT Board and the New Center Steering Council.

The Steering Council being in the early phases of contractual and fund-raising activity, also feels that a number of its processes need to mature to keep up the pace of progress. They too strongly support the idea of extending the board’s term so that all processes related to the new Center construction are streamlined, ensuring smooth execution and the start of construction. Apart from the donors and steering council members, a lot of other members share the same sentiment and have approached several board members with a similar request.

In consideration of the above recommendations, we the Board of Directors in the Board meeting held on October 27th, discussed this matter at length. The majority of the board members agreed that this is an extraordinary situation and necessitates an exceptional action and therefore we are in agreement to consider extending the current board’s term for 2026-27.

Since the board selection is the right of the JSNT members, this communication is meant as a preamble to inform you that the current board will be seeking your approval in order to finalize the proposal of extending the current board’s term for the 2026-2027 period. In order for you to exercise your right to approve or disapprove the proposal, we will be sending out electronic mail to the members eligible for voting soon (by mid November 2025).

We plan on addressing these questions and concerns and sharing it with you all via a FAQ document on our website to help you make an informed decision.
